Attention high school photographers from around the country: Santa Rosa is once more hosting the Zone of Focus photo competition, and Sonoma County residents will be the beneficiaries.

Why will the rest of us benefit? We’ll get the chance to see some amazing work.

Santa Rosa High photography teacher Tanya Braunstein puts together this juried exhibition, now in its 11th year. The show typically draws several hundred submissions from students around the U.S.

Braunstein, a member of Santa Rosa High’s ArtQuest program, gathers a jury of professional photographers to judge the work of students from public, private and home school programs. The students compete for cash awards and prizes for black and white photography in both traditional and digital categories.

A selection of the students’ work will be displayed May 7 through June 26 at the Sonoma County Museum in Santa Rosa.

The entries must be submitted March 28 though April 8. For forms and more information, go to: www.zoneoffocus.org
