Theater supporters and Montgomery High boosters will turn out this weekend to help raise the final amount needed for a student trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival next month in Scotland.

The school’s drama department is sending 10 students to perform and take part in the festival. Elsie Allen High, another Santa Rosa school, also is sending a team from its drama department.

“We’re getting close to our goal……about $7000 more!” Montgomery drama instructor Susane Byrne wrote Wednesday in an email.

On Friday and Saturday, the Montgomery students will perform the six one-act plays they’ll stage in Edinburgh. The event begins at 7 p.m. each night at the school’s performing arts center. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students.

As well, the students will perform a murder mystery dinner, “The Spy Who Killed Me,” at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Cattlemen’s restaurant in Montgomery Village. Dinner and the show cost $40. Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com.

And here is an interview with Seth Clayton, one of the alumni from the benefit show on his pursuit of an acting career.
