Sonoma County’s Copperfield’s Books doesn’t just support first-time local authors. The Santa Rosa store also is helping raise funds for local schools.

The store in Montgomery Village has agreed to match my donation for each copy of my new fantasy novel, “Horse Stalker,” sold there in September and October. That means Schools Plus of Santa Rosa will earn a total of $2 for every copy of the book purchased there in that time period. I’m very grateful, and so are the folks at Schools Plus.

At 1:30 p.m. this Saturday I’ll be doing a book signing at the store, 2316 Montgomery Drive.

It’s the first of four book signings for “Horse Stalker” that will be hosted by Copperfield’s stores around the county. And each event will benefit local schools. I’m donating $1 for every copy of the book purchased in September and October.

Here are the details on the other three book signings:

1:30 p.m. Saturday Sept. 17 – Petaluma Cooperfield’s Books, 140 Kentucky St., a benefit for the Petaluma Educational Foundation.

1:30 p.m. Saturday Oct. 1 – Sebastopol Copperfield’s Books, 138 N. Main St., a benefit for the Analy High School Education Foundation and El Molino High School Foundation.

12 p.m. Saturday Oct. 15 – Healdsburg Copperfield’s Books, 104 Matheson St., a benefit for the Healdsburg Education Foundation.
