Last weekend the Petaluma Educational Foundation celebrated The Bash, its annual premier fundraiser. The group’s website announced that the event raised over $320,000 for local schools.

Now the foundation is close to wrapping up its PEF Week, where local businesses share some of their sales proceeds, and also set out “Tips for Teachers” collection jars.

The foundation has graciously welcomed me to join in the week, and at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday (Sept. 17) I’ll be greeting patrons and signing copies of my fantasy novel “Horse Stalker” at the Petaluma Copperfield’s Books, 140 Kentucky St. I’m donating $1 to the foundation for every copy of the book sold there in September and October.

Future book signings at Copperfield’s stores will be Oct. 1 in Sebastopol and Oct. 15 in Healdsburg. And books remain on sale at the Santa Rosa Copperfield’s, the site of last week’s book signing. Sales from all four stores are benefiting Sonoma County school groups, with a donation of $1 for every book sold.

I look forward to meeting some of you Saturday.
