Bite Club’s Heather Irwin, Press Democrat Editorial Director Paul Gullixson and reporters Meg McConahey, Jeremy Hay, Martin Espinoza and Robert Digitale will come together Saturday afternoon to read their chapters from the newspaper’s fictionalized story, “Sonoma Squares Murder Mystery.”

The first-ever public reading of this locally based thriller will take place in downtown Santa Rosa as part of the Sonoma County Book Festival.

Joining in will be local authors Linda C. McCabe, Ana Manwaring, Dean A. Anderson, Charles Markee and Frederick Weisel, plus our special guest writer, local attorney John Hendrickson.

The writers each contributed a chapter in this fast-paced story of a scheming killer and a young Santa Rosa newspaper reporter who quickly becomes part of the story.

The story appeared last spring in both print and online versions of The Press Democrat. The 16 short chapters since have been turned into an ebook available at Amazon and Smashwords. To see all the writers and their chapters, click here.

The readings will begin at 1 p.m. at the Redwood Writers Reading Circle on the east side of Courthouse Square near Rendez Vous Bistro.

It’s just one of the many events at the all-day book festival, an annual celebration of writers and books. Click here to learn more about the festival.
