Jeane Slone is a matchmaker.

The Healdsburg writer devotes a ton of energy to connecting readers with local authors. She not only distributes the writers’ book in stores, cafes and other venues. She also helps host monthly dinners that bring together writers and those who love stories.

Slone was featured last month in a story by Press Democrat Staff Writer Diane Peterson. The article included a list of all the Sonoma County locations where she places books for sale.

At the next event, Monday Feb. 11, I’ll be one of the guest authors, answering questions and reading a few pages from my fantasy novel, “Horse Stalker.” The dinner takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gaia’s Garden, 1899 Mendocino Ave. Santa Rosa.

The dinner also will feature Gabriel A. Faire, author of the suspense novel “Mill Rats;” plus Victor Daniels and his non-fiction work, “The Radical Wrong;” Mary Lynn Archibald and her humorous memoir, “Accidental Cowgirl;” and Craig Nathanson, author of “How to Find the Right Work During Challenging Times.”
