Former Montgomery High athlete Sara Bei Hall on Monday advanced to the finals in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.

Hall finished second in her heat and third overall with a time of 9:44.55.

Congratulations, Sara.

The finals will be held Friday afternoon at the University of Oregon.

Hall, the first high school athlete to ever win four individual cross country state titles in California, gave an interview a year ago about her dreams to make a difference on and off the track — a dream she shares with husband and Olympic marathoner Ryan Hall. Ryan qualified for his spot on the Olympic team in January in Houston.
