New “Sonoma Squares” story debuts June 30

The Press Democrat and 14 local writers are gearing up to publish another fictional serial, a thriller that picks up where last year’s “Sonoma Squares Murder Mystery” left off.

“Sonoma Squares/ Red Harvest” will debut in print and online on Sunday June 30. The serial features 14 Press Democrat and local writers continuing the tale of the scheming killer and the young female newspaper reporter who is trying hard to avoid becoming part of the story. The fun includes seeing how the different writers come together to tell this saga based in Sonoma County – with pot growers, a winery gala, organic farmers and the Gran Fondo all thrown in for good measure.

I’ll share more about the writers and the story next week.

Today I want to highlight the new story’s title image, created by the Press Democrat’s very own Bernice Paz.

Bernice has been with the newspaper for more than 13 years. She currently is a part of the PD Media Lab, working as an interactive marketing creative specialist.

Thanks, Bernice, for putting together such a great image. Readers can look for it on this blog and in the newspaper starting June 30.
